PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a Public Hearing will be held on April 15, 2010 at 7:30 PM at the Ulster Town Hall, Town Hall Drive, Lake Katrine, New York, before the Ulster Town Board on the application of Vincent Organtini for a special permit to establish a Nursery School at 927 Orlando Street on the lands of Organtini (0.534 acres), located on parcel lot # 48.48-1-16, located in an R-10 zone.

PUBLIC HEARING

TOWN OF ULSTER - FISCAL YEAR 2010

APPLICATION FOR OFFICE OF COMMUNITY RENEWAL

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM

Pursuant to the requirements of the New York State Office of Community Renewal, the Town of Ulster will conduct a public hearing to obtain the input of citizens, particularly low and moderate income persons, with regard to the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Housing Trust Fund, Office of Community Renewal (OCR).

 

An informational public hearing is scheduled for April 15, 2010 at 7:45 PM at the Ulster Town Hall, 1Town Hall Drive, Lake Katrine, New York 12449.  Citizens are invited to participate in the development of the Town's Community Development applications including assessing needs and priorities.

 

At the public hearing the Town will describe the types of grant assistance available from the New York State Office of Community Renewal Small Cities Program and will seek comments and suggestions from the public as to proposed uses of Small Cities funds. The types of activities that may be undertaken with Small Cities program funds include acquisition and disposition of real property, public facilities and improvements, clearance activities, public services, payment of non-federal share of another federal program, removal of architectural barriers, relocation, rehabilitation and preservation activities, economic development and job creating activities. Approximately $40 million in Small Cities CDBG funds are available for fiscal year 2010. The Town will also explain the primary and national objectives of the program, the State's Small Cities CDBG requirements, and the process and timeline for accepting applications and making awards.

 

A draft application for Community DevelopmentBlock Grant assistance will be reviewed. The Townproposes to submit a 2010 Single Purpose project application in an amount not to exceed $600,000 to replace and/or install storm drainage facilities within the Glenerie Neighborhood.The Town expects that more applications will be submitted to the New York State Office of Community Renewal Small Cities Program than can be funded.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Ulster Town Board will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at 8:00 PM at the Ulster Town Hall, 1 Town Hall Drive, Lake Katrine, New York, upon the adoption of a local law to adopt a new Article II, Terminology, pertaining to Chapter 190 of the Town Zoning Law to conform to the Town's Comprehensive Master Plan.

Copies of the proposed local law are available for viewing at the Ulster Town Clerk's Office during normal business hours and on the town website. All interested parties will be heard at the said public hearing, or by written statements received prior to the close of the hearing.
