Town Board Schedules a Public Scoping Session, Millen's Recycling Plant

The Town of Ulster Town Board has scheduled a Public Scoping Session for the PROPOSED Millen's Recycling Plant on Flatbush Road.  The Scoping Session will take place on Thursday, February 18th, at 7:15 pm in the Town of Ulster Town Hall.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC SCOPING SESSION

TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board of the Town of Ulster on Thursday, February 18, 2010, at 7:15 p.m. at the Town of Ulster Town Hall, 1 Town Hall Drive, Lake Katrine, New York, "to allow for the public to comment - pursuant to the 6 NYCRR Part 617 State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) §617.8 - concerning the "Draft Scoping Document" concerning a proposed action by Millens Recycling, LLC to establish a "recycling center" on a 39-acre site consisting of a 84,500 square foot (sf²) material processing facility; 10,000 sf² office building; 3,600 sf² maintenance mechanical storage building; 2,500 sf² UARC metal processing program building; scale house; along with related parking, access driveways and other site improvements.  The project site is located at 932 Flatbush Road (NY Route 32).

Public input is requested to assist the Town Board as lead agency in determining the potentially significant adverse impacts when the Town Board drafts the final written scope that the applicant will use to create the draft Environmental Impact Statement  (EIS) on the proposed action.  Copies of the "Draft Scoping Document," are on file in the Town Clerk's Office, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Town of Ulster Town Hall, 1 Town Hall Drive, Lake Katrine, NY.

Written comments will be received and considered by the lead agency for no less than 10 calendar days following a pubic hearing in which environmental impacts of the proposed action is considered.
