JASON COSENZA, ULSTER TOWN CLERK, AND NINA POSTUPACK, ULSTER COUNTY CLERK, ANNOUNCE May 29, 2008, PASSPORT NIGHT
The passport service will provide information to American citizens about how to obtain, replace or change a passport. Also, applications will be accepted for the new passport cards that allow entry at US land and sea ports when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. First time applicants can apply on-site, providing they have proof of U.S. citizenship that consists of a certified birth certificate or previous US passport and a valid form of photo identification such as a driver's license. The fee for an original application is $75.00 (Age 16 and over), payable to the Department of State and $25.00 payable to the Ulster County Clerk. Passport quality photos can be taken on-site for a fee of $10.00. Passport applications, fee information and detailed instructions for children under the age of 15 can be obtained from the Ulster County Clerk website, http://www.co.ulster.ny.us/countyclerk. Passport renewals can be handled as well if it is within five years from the date of expiration. All passport questions can be directed to the Ulster County Clerk's Office at (845) 340-3288.
