Public Hearing to be held July 2 at 7:30

A Public Hearing has been scheduled for July 2, 2007 at 7:30 at the Town Hall to obtain the input of citizen, particularly low and moderate income persons, with regard to a Small Cities Community Development Block Grant Program amendment for project #1159HR16-05.

At the Public Hearing the Town will describe the types of grant assistance available from the New York State Office for Small Cities and will present a proposed program amendment to project #1159HR16-05.  That program is a $266,000 project to assist homeowners in the Glenerie Water District with grants to connect to the public water system.  The Town has completed that project and there is an unobligated balance of approximately $16,000.  The program amendment proposes to transfer unobligated funds to the East Kingston Water District to provide similar grants to assist homeowners in that neighborhood connect to the public water system.

 

If the program amendment is approved lateral connection grants would be offered in the East Kingston Water District in the summer of 2007 and would be completed by the end of 2007.  At the public hearing the Town will solicit public comments prior to submission of the program amendment to the Office for Small Cities during July 2007.
