Town of Ulster Residents are reminded this winter to make sure the fire hydrants in their neighborhoods are free of snow and ice.  Shoveling does get tiresome as the snowy weather continues to hit our area, but in the event of an emergency it is important that our volunteer firemen have quick access to the hydrants.

The Lower Esopus Watershed Partnership and the Town of Ulster will be holding an information seminar to address the recent pattern of turbid releases of waters from the Ashokan Reservoir into the Esopus Creek on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at the Town of Ulster Town Hall.

The Town Board has scheduled a Public Hearing with respect to a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement for the contemplated redevelopment of the east campus of Tech City.  The Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, February 3rd at 7:15 PM.

Fire Hydrants in the Ulster, Spring Lake and Sawkill/Cherry Hill Water Districts are scheduled to be flushed on Wednesday, October 1st, starting at 11:00 PM.  The Water Department anticipates having this process completed by 6:00 A.M. the following morning.  During this time, Water District Residents may experience some discoloration of their water for a short time.

Many Thanks to our Summer Camp Director, Danielle Trippodo; Assistant Director, Kris Swart;  Recreation Director, Doc Norton; and ALL our Councilors, Campers and Parents who made our 2008 Summer Camp Season A Success!!!  In all, the Town of Ulster Summer Program serviced 283 Campers this summer!

The Town of Ulster Highway Superintendent will accept bids for specified equipment at the Town of Ulster Town Clerk's office until 2:00pm on September 17, 2008.  For more information refer to the "Notice to Bidders".

The combined Fire Departments of the Town of Ulster are sponsoring a Memorial Service on Thursday, September 11, at the Robert E. Post Park.  The starting time is 10:00 AM and will be dedicated to the memory of all public safety personnel who gave their lives on that day.

The Ulster Town Board will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, September 4^th at 7:15 pm at the Town of Ulster Town Hall.  The public hearing will concern the application of the Shop Rite Plaza, located on 801 Miron Lane, parcel #48.42-3-25.110 and 25.120, on 14.2 acres in an "RC" zone.  The developer proposes a site plan amendment, to develop the "final phase" of the Shop Rite Plaza site consisting of three(3) new buildings and an addition to the Shop Rite building for a total of 69,371 square feet - a 23,471 square foot increase over the previously approved site plan.  All interested parties will be heard at the public hearing, or by written statements received prior to the close of the hearing.

The Ulster Town Board will conduct a public hearing on  Thursday, August 20, 2008 at 7:30 pm in the Ulster Town Hall concerning the adoption of proposed Local Law #1 of 2008, a law repealing Chapter 135 of the Town Code entitled "Records" and the adoption of a new Chapter 135 entitled "Records".

Coffee and donuts will be served to early arrivals starting at 10:00 AM, followed by lunch at noon and then bingo.  The Town of Ulster Kiwanis will return as the master chiefs and will christen the new grilling pavilion at Post Park.  All Town Senior residents are invited to attend.

The Town of Ulster is auctioning off surplus equipment. Office equipment is available for viewing at the Ulster Town Clerk's office during regular business hours, 9:00am to 5:00pm.  Minimum bid on office equipment is $1.00.

Vehicles and accessories are available for viewing at the Town of Ulster Highway Garage on East Chester Street from 9:00am to 3:00pm.  A 10% check or money order deposit is required on all vehicles.

Property is sold AS IS, WHERE IS and the Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.  Sealed bids will be accepted at the Town Clerk's Office until 3:30pm, Tuesday, July 15, 2008.  Bid application sheets can be found in the Ulster Town Clerk's Office and on the Town Website.

The Town of Ulster is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the selection of a performance service company to implement an energy efficiency improvement project.  A mandatory preproposal meeting will be held at 2:30pm on July 10, 2008 at the Town of Ulster Town Hall.  Performance service companies that are interested in being considered must submit a proposal in response to this RFP on or before 3:30pm, Thursday, July 17, 2008.  For complete information, Click Here, and scroll down to "Documents" to review the Town of Ulster RFP.
