The Ulster Town Board will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, September 4^th at 7:15 pm at the Town of Ulster Town Hall.  The public hearing will concern the application of the Shop Rite Plaza, located on 801 Miron Lane, parcel #48.42-3-25.110 and 25.120, on 14.2 acres in an "RC" zone.  The developer proposes a site plan amendment, to develop the "final phase" of the Shop Rite Plaza site consisting of three(3) new buildings and an addition to the Shop Rite building for a total of 69,371 square feet - a 23,471 square foot increase over the previously approved site plan.  All interested parties will be heard at the public hearing, or by written statements received prior to the close of the hearing.

A New "Rain Garden" is being built at the Town of Ulster Town Hall for all to enjoy.  A rain garden uses gardening techniques to reduce and recycle storm water runoff.  The Cornell Cooperative Extension received money to establish rain gardens at three locations to demonstrate these techniques to the public, the Town of Ulster was one of the locations selected.  The garden uses native plants and will be maintained by master gardeners.

The Town of Ulster Recreation Department's 2006-2007 Biddy League Basketball Season was a BIG sucess!!!   To celebrate the season, the first Annual Biddy League Basketball Dinner was held today, Sunday, at the Hillside Manor with 210 players, coaches, parents and others in attendence.

Thanks to all the children, coaches and parents who were involved.  Your help and cooperation made the season GREAT!!  And a special thanks to Rocco Secreto who was instrumental in organizing the league.

The Ulster Town Board will conduct a public hearing upon the proposed adoption of a Local Law amending Chapter A194 of the Town Code, the Town fee schedule and amending existing Town Code Sections 145-7 and 161-22(A) regarding the reservation of recreation lands or the payment of recreation fees in connection with subdivisions and site plan approvals. All interested parties will be heard at the public hearing, or by written statements received prior to the close of the hearing.  Copies of the proposal are available at the Town Clerk's office or click headline above.

The Town of Ulster Police Department will accept bids for a one year fleet maintenance contract.  Information packets are available during business hours at the Ulster Town Clerk's Office.  Bids will be accepted until Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 3:30 pm, at which time the bids will be opened and reviewed.  The Ulster Town Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.  Question should be directed to the Ulster Town Clerk at 845-382-2455.
