For those who are not familiar with our community, we are located off of Exit 19 on the NYS Thruway, 90 miles north of New York City and 60 miles south of Albany. The Town of Ulster is in the heart of the Hudson Valley within easy reach of the Catskill Mountains and is known as the "Business Hub" of Ulster County. We are an active, growing community and enjoy our beautiful location with easy access to great skiing, fishing, boating, hiking, theatre, music, historical sites, shopping, fall colors, summer festivals, county fairs and much, much more.

Are You a Homeowner Receiving the Basic STAR???

All New York homeowners who are CURRENTLY receiving the Basic STAR school tax exemption MUST register with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance so that they may continue to receive the Basic STAR in 2014 and subsequent years.

The Town of Ulster Town Board will conduct a Public Hearing on Thursday, December 5th at 7:15 PM on a proposed local law requiring meeting attendance and training for members of the Town of Ulster Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.

FEMA National Flood Insurance Program Update Seminar

Bill Nechamen of the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Floodplain Management Section will provide an overview of the changes to the National Flood Insurance Program on December 4th, 6:30 - 8:30 PM, at the Kingston City Hall Common Council Chambers, 420 Broadway, Kingston. The event is specifically for Ulster County floodplain residential and commercial property owners, municipal officials and local floodplain administrators, but other community members are welcome to attend.
